Giving up already, eh? Well, the important thing is that you tried. And failed. The second part is more important than the first part, in this case.
I think when professional writers run out of ideas they wring comedy out of the minutiae of everyday life or just get sillier than before. When you are willing to cut ties with reality your subject matter is infinite! That doesn’t make it right.
